Cop Killer: Luis Enrique Monroy-Bracamonte A.K.A. Marcelo Marquez

Luis Enrique Monroy-Bracamonte, 34, is suspected in the murder of two deputy sheriff's in California on Oct. 24. The accused killer goes by the name of Marcelo Marquez, because he's gotten into some trouble in the U.S. dating back to the mid 1990s. The name Marquez is said to be his wife's last name, his brother Hector Monroy claims.

Monroy-Bracamonte and his wife Janelle Marquez Monroy are both charged in the double-murder rampage. Other charges they've been given include attempted murder against several other deputies, and stealing a deputy's shotgun.

Many people around the country are trying to figure out why both husband and wife would go on to kill these innocent officers. Monroy-Bracamonte has been arrested in the past for petty thefts and traffic violations in Utah and Arizona. Marcicopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, of Arizona, says Marquez slipped through the cracks.

Monroy-Bracamonte has been deported twice back to Mexico, but always found his way back to the states. He and his wife are facing the death penalty if convicted. They haven't entered any pleas, and told the judge that they can't afford lawyers. So you know who's paying these fees; the taxpayers.

So these two can come to the United States, kill police officers, and then have taxpayers of California pay for their legal fees; Only in America.

This is a travesty, and there needs to be some changes in the system. Illegal deportees shouldn't find their way back to the U.S. after numerous arrest. Now two officers are dead because these two murderers slipped through the cracks from immigration officials.
